Unique Program Elements
Middle school may present new challenges to
the home study family. Parents are beginning
to look ahead to high school and may want to
start transitioning their son/daughter into a
classroom setting. Mark West Charter School
staff will work with you to determine the best
program for your student.

- Full-time Independent Home Study
- Home school for academic core classes
and attend afternoon elective classes
(6th - 8th graders) - Attend Science Camp, Angel Island, and
other optional trips for 7th and 8th
graders - Competitive sports team participation

- Day on Campus (optional) 10:00 to 2:00 Wednesdays
where all home school students come to our classroom
for a day of school that includes: Guided writing
instruction, Big Buddy / Little Buddy activities, school
library, computer instruction, art docent lessons, school
gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, and physical
education - Music programs as offered by Mark West Union School
District are also available to our students - Classroom presentations by guest speakers from
around our county - Information regarding field trips, activities, events,
enrichment classes, and Home Schoolers' Park Days is
provided each month through our Mark West Charter
